5 Tips To Choose Your Wedding Videographer

how-to-choose-your-wedding-videographer

You’ve got almost everything ready for your wedding day, but still wondering if you should get a videographer, but mostly whom? How to choose one?

Here I share with you, 5 tips on how to choose one accordingly
and the right questions you should ask them to see if you are a perfect match!

  • Know what kind of coverage do you want.

Is every moment of the day important to you? Are the bars last call something that you must have on your video? What about the rehearsal dinner?
Will you want a cinematic highlight short film or a full feature documentary style?
Everyone has different expectations for their wedding video and your investment will depend on it.

So first discuss it with your partner and then filter those videographers that actually CAN fulfill your needs.

I offer a whole variety of packages but I’m also able to create a special one for you.

  • Be sure your videographer is as much fun & friendly as a professional.

Being filmed all day when you’re not used to it is an experience...
Good or Bad, it’s going to depend on WHO you hire to be around you in this creative process. He/She should make you feel comfortable so you can relax, be yourself to get the max out of you!
I strongly recommend to have a facetime call, so you can get to know each other and you’ll know right away if you are a perfect match!

So let’s grab a coffee (or FaceTime coffee) and meet, this should be fun for both of us!

  • Be sure you like the way their previous films tell stories.

A bride once told me “you have a way of finding those in-between moments that enable us to relive the moments again and again” and that’s the whole point of it.
It’s not about getting the perfect staged moments, but the most authentic and candid expressions and feelings.
So be sure to check his/her previous work. Even if you ask them to do things differently, they probably won’t be able if they haven’t done it before.

I love bringing you back to that magic moment each time you watch our film. I hope one day your kids, and your kid’s kids, be able to watch and think “Wow! That was beautiful!”

  • Inquire as many videographers as you find.

Find the one you feel most comfortable working with and whom’s past work you can rely on.
A lot of brides still consider video a luxury item to add to their wedding. But personal experience showed me it’s a MUST. As a videographer, it was really hard finding someone that could film my own wedding with the aesthetics I love so we were sooo close to NOT book any for ours. Good thing we ended up doing it because it’s one of the most beautiful memories we have and we love watching it over and over.

It’s not about price, you can go cheap or expensive it’s up to you, but find someone that fills your need, because if you do it just for the price you could end up paying for something you don’t enjoy watching.
So search, inquire, search, inquire. Until you find someone you like.

But, extra advice, don’t let someone you like hanging for long because dates tend to book out pretty fast!

  • Discuss the details, BEFORE booking.

Clearly layout your expectations, and ask about what’s included in the package, to make sure what YOU WANT is in there. Sometimes cheap prices cut out things that could be important to you.
Once your wedding is over, there’s not much you can do.
Ask your videographer a detailed list of what’s included, if you notice something is missing, or there’s something you especially want, just ask him about it.

Whether it’s me who you hire or not; Which one do you feel really gets you as a couple? Which one is asking you the right questions? Which one shares your sense of humor/adventure? Which one you think will deliver you the most passionate and authentic film? Which one will tell YOUR story?
